2015 Melges 32 World Championship – More than 5000 people have strolled by the dock of the Race Village on the opening day of the final event of the Audi tron Sailing Series, sailing series organised by B.Plan Sport and Events.

Many local VIPs as well as national and local sport personalities were present, some of them were also invited to take part to the in-port race. The in-port race with on-board guest has officially opened up the sailing event. Three races were sailed as a warm up in view of the official beginning of the World Championship, Italian team Brontolo (Pacinotti-Zandonà) scored the best result.

Races have been commented live and radio broadcasted, the large audience present has had the opportunity to see the sailing action from the close peer. Teams were lately presented and celebrated at the final prize giving on stage.

The day went on with the gala dinner signed by Sicilian Chef Peppe Giuffrè, live music and amazing fireworks lighting up the harbour and the race village. Thousands of people present have also enjoyed live dance music played by a deejay set at the Race Village tent, that has already become the city's main focus.
