The 20th running of the Melges 24 U.S. National Championship will take place on November 13-16, hosted by the Davis Island Yacht Club in Tampa, FL. Already, twenty-five of the nations biggest and brightest teams have registered to race. Boats will be arriving from all over the country - Florida, Georgia, Texas, California, Michigan, Ohio, Washington and Wisconsin are on the board. Look for the number of entries to soar well above 40! Maybe View The Current List of Entries.

It's never too late to sign-up. The U.S. Melges 24 Class Association (USMCA) is proud to welcome everyone to this event as it ramps up the circuit for the winter. The Southeast region will be a hot bed for this kind of performance racing all the way through April 2015. From Key West Race Week to an inaugural, very-exclusive Melges only regatta in early March, and to Charleston Race Week in mid-April, now is the time to make your plans and join the fleet for some great fun all winter View The 2015 U.S. Melges 24 Schedule.

So far the schedule of events include practice racing on the Thursday prior, then a nine-championship race series will start Friday, November 14 and run thru Sunday, November 16. Free beer and snacks will be flowing every day!

The destination for the 2015 U.S. Nationals has been selected. On August 7-9, in Cascade Locks, OR the Nationals will take place at the Gorge. Many have sailed this venue before and others have only heard about its unique, yet spectacular racing conditions - come and experience it for yourself! It's perfect for Melges 24 racing. Please save the dates and start planning now.

'The Columbia River Gorge is famous for its consistent breeze, warm sunny days and crystal clear water.' says U.S. Melges 24 Pacific Northwest District Governor Manfred Schmiedl, and 2015 Event Chairman. 'Everyone should prepare for long downwind, upriver planing conditions. The Melges 24 was made for the Gorge!'

All interested teams should also mark their calendars for plenty of warm-up action and opportunity. A Pre-Nationals event is scheduled for July 31-August 1. The 2015 Columbia River Gorge One Design Regatta happens on August 1-3. It will be the perfect setup for an incredible National Championship.

Every event is always in need of charter boats. Do you want to charter your boat? Do you know someone who has a boat that would be willing to charter? Event Organizers have had plenty of inquiries from teams overseas looking to come sailing in the USA, so boats are needed. Please contact Regatta co-Chairman George Haynie (ghaynie@tampabay.rr.com) for the 2014 Nationals in Tampa. Contact Manfred Schmiedl (manfredschmiedl@mac.com), 2015 Regatta Chairman regarding the Gorge.
