The 158 strong fleet at the McDougall+McConaghy Moth Worlds can expect an easing breeze on Port Phillip for the third day of racing.
The latest weather data, analysed by
Predictwind shows a softening E breeze which will be averaging 10kts and gusting to over 18kts during the racing - due to start at 1300hrs local time, for the first day of Final racing.
The direction of the wind stays stable during the afternoon, but drops from a strength of 18-25kts mid-morning.
The only point to watch is the breeze on the Bass Strait coast on the other side of the Mornington Peninsular - which build in late afternoon.
A change in the time of this increase in strength and the possibility of it spilling over onto the racing area, could create the challenging conditions seen yesterday.
Similar winds are predicted for Tuesday, but on the basis of the current forecast will be too strong for racing on Wednesday - which is a scheduled rest day, before the regatta concludes on Thursday and Friday.
