The phrase 'warm up' might perhaps be something of a misnomer for those yacht crews working up their boats on Sydney Harbour over this weekend, in preparation for next weekend's start of the Land Rover Sydney to Gold Coast Race. The strong south-westerly winds all weekend were decidedly chilly and were made the more unpleasant by periodic coastal showers.
In a gusty 30+ knots Perpetual Loyal was heavily reefed down on Saturday as she crossed the Heads a couple of times and returned to beat back up the harbour.
The newly rebranded St George Midnight Rambler had a good hit out today, flying two different spinnakers down towards Manly and doing some solid upwind work from there, whilst in the background Brindabella, Helsal 3, PMA Yeah Baby and Southern Excellence were also spotted around the harbour.
Crosbie Lorimer kept an eye on the action from the warmth of his home in Fairlight during the weekend and captured these images.
