2016 Laser Standard Masters Worlds kicks off with perfect conditions
The wind velocity increased and clocked right during the race, rewarding those who chose right hand side of the course. Race two was started in 13 knots and soon built to 16 knots by the finish. Unlike the first race, the right side was not favored this time.

Three members of its Nacra 17 team were held up at gunpoint at Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro. The Spanish sailing federation Real Federación Española de Vela (RFEV) has advised that three members of its Nacra 17 team were held up at gunpoint at Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro. Earlier in the week, two members of the Danish Sailing team were caught within 100metres of a shoot-out between two ghetto gangs.
