ISAF Sailing World Championships Santander 2014 - Postponement was the headline of the day while sailors waited ashore and on water for breeze to fill in. The best breeze filled in at 6-8 knots and all classes were successful in completing one race.

Lee Parkhill (RCYC) managed to avoid the misfortune suffered by nine Laser sailors in the only race of the day, the black flag. Some of the top guns were among those nine, thus a shuffle occurred on the leaderboard. Lee Parkhill sailed his drop race today sitting in 21st overall. Nicholas Heiner (NED) currently holds Buckingham (USA) back from taking the overall lead in the fleet. The silver and bronze fleets did not get their chance to sail today.

Isabella Bertold battled hard on the Radial course today to cash in 10th, moving up to 23rd overall while Brenda Bowskill also moved up swiftly in points due to a stellar fourth place finish today. Zhang of China extends her overall lead with another bullet on the day.

The 470 fleets got their start today with Canadian Saunders team (Jacob and Graeme) from RNSYS off to a very respectable start with a seventh place, sitting in 13th overall.

More racing tomorrow with the event debut of the 49er, 49erfx, Finn and Nacra Event website
