Hutchwilco Auckland Boat Show- Around the Show - Sailing Hall - 2

by Richard Gladwell on 17 May 2013
Weta Boats’ Roger Kitchen takes time out to catch up - Hutchwilco Auckland Boatshow 2013 - Day 2 Richard Gladwell www.photosport.co.nz

Sail-World is at the Hutchwilco Auckland Boatshow in the Sailing Hall. We've a big screen running showing all the best we can find of sailing - from Youtube to Video and some material we have shot ourselves

Interestingly the 18ft skiffs seem to pull the most crowd attention, but we'll be putting them up against Volvo Ocean Race and more America's Cup sailing in the AC72's and 45's. We have the only footage of AC72's racing which has so far pulled over 40,000 views on Youtube.

You can see the replays from the America's Cup World Series and the full replays from the JJ Giltinan series in Sydney earlier this year.

Star turn is still the incredible performance from David Witt and the crew of Nokia in the 18ft Gran Prix Sailing regatta sailed in Auckland in winds well over 30kts - and the three rides down the harbour under spinnaker.

With the weather looking set to close in for the weekend, this is a great opportunity to see a wide range of boats and products, and have a chat to the sailors on the various stands and boats
