At the Manly Yacht Club Helly Hansen Women's Challenge, the young Opti female competitors were lucky to learn new tricks from a master in their regatta area.

Vanessa won the Laser division in the event on Sat 22nd March. She started sailing at MYC when she was nine years old and has gone onto an impressive sailing career. She recently won the 2013 Laser Grand Masters World Championship in Oman. Her ocean-racing career includes two transatlantic crossings and numerous Australian coastal races.

Thrilling races during tropical 33rd Delta Lloyd Regatta
The organisation was testing new formats for 49er, 49erFX and RS:X. It was a great success and made the finals exciting Medemblik welcomed a lot of talent, including those preparing for World Championships and World Cups, and some starting new Olympic campaigns. There were also many Olympic Rio sailors who’ve just started their season again.

Most sailors in Barbados for the 2017 World Championship have been looking forward to this event for three years and so far it is delivering in spades, with fantastic sailing and fabulous hospitality, all based in a stunning location at the Barbados Yacht Club and Barbados Cruising Club. It is simply idyllic.

First golden medals in 470 for Sozykin with Gribanov & Hanson in Laser

In the 470, the Russian Pavel Sozykin and Denis Gribanov were unbeatable, a fair win for this duo. Elliot Hansen wins the gold in the Laser after some close racing in the medal race.

The 49erFX sailors had time to relax in the sun, awaiting their first race.

Tricky winds and new leaders in the second day of Delta Lloyd Regatta
The day started with a delay, and only once the Laser Radial had set off at noon, could the racing start. There were tricky winds for the sailors and the race committee. The day started with a delay, and only once the Laser Radial had set off at noon, could the racing start. Due to the shifting winds, a lot of overall results have changed since the first day. The race committees had a long day on the water, however, they still managed to finish all planned races.
