Hanse Yachts Germany has launched their new 5 Series for the model year 2010- 2011. From 32 ft to 54ft the yachts designed by Judel –Vrolijk & Co in cooperation with the Hanse engineering and boat building team are again setting trends for production boat design.

Hanse 545 –The First to hit the Water

Now in Australia, available from Windcraft, the first of the 5 Series from Hanse Yachts makes a dramatic sight on the water.

This awesome yacht has been commissioned under the eagle of Windcraft’s shipwright David Griffin and is now ready for inspection at Windcraft’s marina on Pittwater. In true Hanse style the cockpit and decks are clear of clutter. The cockpit is vast with a crew and guest area.

Setting the North’s sails with the Selden in-mast furling system is simply a matter of pressing buttons and managing the lines brought neatly to the helm position. The helm is a set of super sexy black carbon wheels; anyone lucky enough to have them in their hands is very reluctant to give them up!

An imposing sail area is easy to handle, even in a brisk wind. This manageability is largely due to the self tacking headsail with high aspect rig, intrinsic to the design of all Hanse Yachts allowing easy sailing without compromising performance. The tall tapered mast is trimmed using a high ratio hydraulic backstay control, push button of course - as are most of the controls to manoeuvre, trim and set anchor. To be alone on deck, streaming across the water and then tack this powerful beast without assistance is an adrenalin filled experience.

On board living is as though on a super yacht and is all about lifestyle. Down below a luxurious aft owner’s stateroom is one of many layouts to choose from. The interior design is contemporary with clean straight lines, abundant choices to cater for personal tastes.

The first Hanse 545 to Australia is now ready and ready for inspection. For further information on this model please contact Peter Hrones or John Cowpe.

Hanse 445 – Nominated for European Yacht of the Year Award.

The first Hanse 445 displayed at European Boatshow’s this month has met with resounding approval. This new model has all the qualities that mark the modern Hanse line: she is easy to sail, has a modern and comfortable loft style interior and provides a lot of space under deck. Needless to say, this Judel/Vrolijk design is a fast boat with a surprising value for money ratio. Visually her lines are stunning and the clean uncluttered deck is eye catching.

Features include walkable bow storage, large bathing platform, two spreader rig with discontinuous rigging and a longer waterline than on many comparable yachts.

Ventilation is excellent with six flush hatches opening in the deck for the cabins and saloon. The custom made opening side hatches ensure critical cross flow ventilation. The side coach-roof hatches can be opened even when raining.

Two fantastic hull windows offer natural light and clear views when sitting in the saloon.

With the purpose designed self tacking headsail the 445 has about 10% more sail area than most cruising yachts of a similar size. Add the Genoa and this increases to 23% more sail area. Judel/Vroljk polar diagrams are available for more detail.

Quality features like the drop down companionway and modern retractable cleats enhance the appeal. The Hanse 445 comes standard with large AGM batteries, stainless steel keel bolts, adjustable backstay and the very best model TD300 underdeck furler by Furlex. The T-bulb performance keel and performance rig with North Sails are also standard.

The hull is foam cored for extra stiffness and all underlying woods including edges are finished with the latest 3D varnish machine in high gloss. The Hanse 445 comes with fully glassed in/laminated bulkheads to the hull and deck for the best structural integrity.

Hanse 355 and 325

The 'Small Fives' are on the way! With eye catching and comfortable new interiors that include precision curved surfaces these models are a stand out in their size.

Hull and deck have been re engineered in line with Hanse’s continuing design innovation. More curves and a smoother radius present sleek and distinctive looking little yachts.

The rig, sail plan, keel and rudder are untouched because they are perfect and responsible for high stability, good safe sailing and excellent manoeuvrability. The T Speed keel assists in a low centre of gravity and more righting moment. Surprisingly fast, these models are equally at home just playing in our waterways or providing fast fun around the buoys. Featuring Hanse’s trademark self tacking headsail with a large but easily handled sail area both boats are a breeze to sail solo.

Both models have easy access to the water with a well designed transom. Cockpits are spacious with plenty of room for a table and BBQ. Hatches are flush in the style of the larger Hanse’s, stainless steel anchor chain and a big boat style toe rail all enhance the look of these smart new models from Hanse.

The 325 is a two cabin layout, the 355 comes with the option of a third cabin There is a generous V berth , plenty of storage , ventilation and of course a choice on interior wood and fabric colours. In the two cabin 355 there is even a separate shower stall.

Hull construction is with enviromentally friendly epoxy based vinylester resin, which increases strength and reduces weight. It also ensures that osmosis is not an issue.

The Hanse 325 and 355 will be here in December.
