GoFree – the provider of digital content and services and part of the Navico® family of marine electronics brands including Lowrance®, Simrad® and B&G® – announced today that the GoFree Connected Vessel System has been selected by Boatsetter as the recommended vessel tracking and remote management solution for its vast global network of owners.

The GoFree Connected Vessel System consists of a GoFree Track module and the GoFree Vessel web interface. GoFree Track can monitor, log, transmit and report important vessel metrics to the GoFree Vessel web interface like NMEA 2000® and J1939 diesel engine data, NMEA 2000 network data and security information from onboard sensors.

The GoFree Vessel web interface allows users to review and share comprehensive trip recordings – TripReplays – that include boat trails and location, engine performance, navigational data and even photos taken on the voyage. Trips can be played back on the unique GoFree Vessel dashboard or shared with friends or service partners.

“We believe that Navico has created an exciting product that will provide a tremendous advantage to not only our Boatsetter owners but to our users as well,” said Jaclyn Baumgarten, CEO and co-founder of Boatsetter. “The GoFree program helps owners track their boats and provides critical security and engine information that will help them maintain their vessels and keep them running in top condition. Boatsetter users can rent with confidence and, by using TripReplay™ functionality, they provide owners with valuable feedback about their time on the water.”

As a top peer-to-peer boat rental marketplace, the goal at Boatsetter is to put systems in place that strengthen the trust between its boat owners and boat rental customers. Boatsetter believes GoFree Vessel’s unique TripReplay feature can play a key role in that effort. TripReplay makes it easy to share recorded vessel information with owners, allowing access to real-time information pertaining to their boat including location, weather conditions, water depth and engine performance data, while their boat is in use.

“We are very excited to receive this recommendation from Boatsetter,” said Leif Ottosson, CEO, Navico. “With over 4000 owners in the program and a rapidly growing population of adventurous users worldwide, Boatsetter is in the perfect position to make full use of our new systems. The GoFree Connected Vessel System offers users unique features that no other boat rental company has – a powerful tool that facilitates effective communication and creates a more positive boat rental experience.”

Boatsetter is the leading boat-sharing platform, connecting consumers to a global network of licensed captains and boat owners. This revolutionary platform allows users to select a boat rental from a worldwide fleet for their next adventure.
