GBR Selection Trials for the Team Racing World Championships

by RYA on 1 Nov 2014
Team Racing World Championships RYA http://www.rya.org.uk
After some consideration the Selectors have decided not to hold the first selection weekend on 13-14 December. The first weekend will now be 10-11 January and the second weekend will be 17-18 January 2015.

The Selectors reserve the right to continue the Trials after the second weekend if they think it is necessary. The Trials will be held at Rutland Sailing Club as previously planned.

As a consequence, the closing date for entries for the Selection Trials, including sailing CVs, has now been extended to Monday 8 December 2014.

Secondly the cost of entering the selection trials will now be reduced to £350. There will be no reduction in this entry fee if a team is not invited to the second weekend.

Additionally, teams may substitute up to one helm and one crew for either of the two selection weekends if team members are genuinely unable to attend. However, teams should clearly state in their application which six sailors constitute the team entering the Selection Trials, and once selected, a team will be expected to take up their place and no further changes in personnel will be permitted unless there are exceptional circumstances that would be considered by the Selectors.

All sailors entering the Trials must be members of the RYA.

The Selectors for the Trials will be Richard Guy (Chairman), Stuart Hudson and Jamie Marston.

Any questions or queries relating to the Trials should be emailed initially to both, David Campbell James campbelljames@btinternet.com or Jess Beecher jessica.beecher@rya.org.uk
