Fremantle to Bali Race and Rally 2013 – the Adventure of a Lifetime on your Doorstep!

In what organizers, Fremantle Sailing Club, are calling the Paradise Circuit, the Race, Rally and Beyond Bali starts in the historic port of Fremantle and will dovetail and feed into the Asian Yachting Calendar.

Scheduled for a 4 May 2013 start, the fantastic Fremantle to Bali Race and Rally again offers a beautiful sail north up the WA coastline with every mile taking you away from our winter chills and into the tropical climates of our northern regions and Indonesian neighbours.

This unforgettable sailing experience and WA’s only international race and rally, established in 1981 already has 30 expressions of interest from a range of sailors – some seasoned racers and others pursuing the leisurely rally option with the intention to cruise the magnificent islands after arrival in Bali.

The 2011 event saw 23 boats take part, including 8 racers and 15 rally vessels. Event organizers are aiming at a fleet of 50 or more yachts for the 2013 run up to the Island of the Gods and urge participants to register their interest as soon as possible to allow time to prepare boats and crews, and to organize safety and other checks for the 1440 nautical mile trip.

While your arrival is the end of one section; the race/rally, it is just the beginning of the newly added Beyond Bali cruising experience, an organized route with safe anchorages selected by experienced yachties who have travelled it before. Yachts can cruise among the 17,000 islands that make up the Indonesian archipelago ‘in company’ knowing the arranged stopovers and visits will offer a genuine and welcoming insight into the real Indonesia, well away from the tourist trails, then, if time permits you can return via the stunning Kimberleys.

You’ll be in good company, safely tracked and monitored for the entirety or the race/rally, and well equipped not only with experienced support but with preparatory information evenings covering information on items ranging from customs procedures, safety, navigation, weather and so on, making the whole process easy for all boat owners.
