Flying Dutchman World Titles Napier New Zealand

Forty-five crews are gathered in Napier, New Zealand, for the Flying Dutchman World Championships which will take place from the 6 to 11 January 2009 with nine races.

Before this the New Zealand Nationals will take place 31 Dec 2008 to 3 Jan 2009 with eight races.

With a small fleet the racing will be very competitive. Hungarians Szabolcs and Andras (HUN 70) will be hot favourites with their previous world title wins in Melbourne and Florida.

British entrants are GBR 382 Peter Doran and Richard Phillips, and GBR 386 Tony Lyall and Alex Rogers. Other European entries have been received from Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland and Hungary.
