Clipper 70 yacht 2015 showcases TeleMed Clipper Round The World Yacht Race http://www.clipperroundtheworld.com
ClipperTelemed+™ has been revealed as a Team Sponsor in the 2015-16 edition of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. It is a new joint venture between Clipper Ventures Plc and its Global Medical Emergency Support Partner, PRAXES Medical Group.

The branded entry will be one of twelve identical 70-foot ocean racing yachts that comprise the Clipper Race fleet. The tenth edition of the biennial event provides the perfect global marketing platform to showcase the new service which is powered by the PRAXES remote medical support team and will be provided to more than 600 crew on the race.

'Clipper Ventures operates a powerful global marketing tool in the Clipper Race that is used by major international brands and destinations to promote themselves around the world,' explained ClipperTelemed+™ Business Development Manager, Tom Bettle. 'The fact that PRAXES supports hundreds of skippers and crew on the race provides a floating case study of the telemedicine service in action. This is the perfect way to launch ClipperTelemed+™ world-wide.'

ClipperTelemed+™ provides fast emergency and general medical support from PRAXES physicians based in Canada, to all seafarers, no matter how remote their location. Crew on yachts, superyachts, commercial ships and exploration rigs can benefit from the service which uses the latest telecommunications technologies to provide access to fully qualified emergency physicians within five minutes, wherever the casualty is located, in any language.

John Hockin, VP of Marketing for PRAXES, said he welcomed the global promotional initiative as a very powerful demonstration of their services: 'ClipperTelemed+™ is an innovative concept built on our experience of working with the Clipper Race. The race is the perfect marketing platform and we’re delighted for Praxes to continue as the official global medical support partner alongside the new joint venture.'

ClipperTelemed+™ will also provide custom medical kits and equipment as part of a complete remote marine medical support service which will be officially launched in April.
