City Clubs Open Regatta International 2015— NoR published

by Jing Xin on 28 Jan 2015
NoR for the 6th City Clubs Open Regatta International 2015 presented by Qingdao International Marine Club(QIMC) is now online Jing Xin
The Notice of Race(NoR)for the 6th City Clubs Open Regatta International 2015 presented by Qingdao International Marine Club (QIMC), from 25th April to 29th April 2015 at Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, Shandong Province, China, is now available online here. The largest multi-class regatta of Northern China includes 5 keelboat classes and a catamaran class.

City Clubs Open Regatta International, known as CCOR, started its first event in 2010 and will be in its sixth year in 2015. As a professional organized sailing event, CCOR is an event in ISAF Calendar since her debut in 2010. It’s not only a sailing event, but also a sailing festival, filled with the elements of multicultural, entertainment, passion and joy.

'One point of difference for CCOR is the diversity of boats and variety of classes,' said Mr. Qu Chun, the regatta founder, also the manager of QIMC. 'We constantly bring forth new ideas in the regatta, aiming to create a fair and professional platform for sailors. Except traditional classes,FE28R, X-41 and catamarans will be added to this event as well. We expect to have over 60 boats and approximately 450 people taking participation.'

The classes or event for this regatta are as follows:
•FE 26
•FE 28R
•Beneteau First 40
Open Class A (mono hull, hull length of 35 feet or less, holding a valid ORC Club certificate)
•Open Class B (mono hull, hull length of more than 35 feet, holding a valid ORC Club certificate)
•Open Class C (catamaran, hull length of more than 35 feet)
X-41(Match Race)

The course races and a Long Distance Race will be open to all boats except the X-41.Match race event of CCOR will use the X-41 boats supplied by the Organizing Authority(OA). OA may accept 4 entry teams. As X-41 is a high level racing boat, OA may refuse the entry of a team due to lack of experience of the core crew or skippers in the previous keelboat regatta.

Mr Qu Chun said 'This year we have made considerable progress in race management. The 6th CCOR is unique in catamarans and match race which uses X-41. We believe that X-41 is the largest and most professional keelboat ever used in the match race of China. We will learn lessons from it and summarize our experiences to produce an even better regatta in the future. We hope CCOR will be further refined and become more professional year by year. Our goal is to attract entries from all over the world.'

The full NoR is available here, and the entry form can be downloaded online here.
