Boaters are reminded to keep clear of a section of Sydney Harbour on Sunday 26 October for the safe staging of The Australian Boat Race.
Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the area between Woolwich and the Pyrmont Bridge on Darling Harbour from 8am to 9.45am for the annual rowing race between Sydney and Melbourne University boat clubs.
A moving exclusion zone will be in place for the safety of all harbour users, 600 metres ahead, 200 metres on the beam and 200 metres astern of the racing eights.
The area will be patrolled by Roads and Maritime and Police control vessels and vessels not involved in event should not enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
