Boaters are reminded to keep clear of a section of the Hawkesbury River at Windsor this weekend for the safe staging of the 2016 Australia versus USA B.A.D Power Boat Challenge.
Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence to host the event on the river from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 January. A special event area will be in place between midday and 5pm on Friday, and 9am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The event area will be established alongside Governor Phillip Park, between South Creek and the Windsor Bridge.
The event area will be monitored by control vessels.
Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
