Boaters are reminded to keep clear of the Manning River between Martin Bridge and Dumaresq Island next weekend for the safe staging of powerboat races.
Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence to the Taree Aquatic Powerboat Club to host the event on the Manning River from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 April between 8am and 5pm.
An event area will be established on the Manning River near Queen Elizabeth Park and will be marked by buoys and monitored by control vessels.
Vessels not involved in the event should not enter the marked area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
