C’est reparti pour Realteam à Cardiff, pour l’ Extreme Sailing Series

Realteam s’envole pour Cardiff au Pays de Galles, où se tiendra du 22 au 25 août 2014 la cinquième étape des Extreme Sailing Series. Quatrième du classement général provisoire, l’équipe Suisse entame la deuxième partie de saison en pleine forme.

'Nous avons profité de la pause estivale pour changer d’air, naviguer sur d’autres supports et avec d’autres équipiers,' explique le skipper Jérôme Clerc. Une pause bien méritée puisque les navigateurs ont été beaucoup sollicités depuis le début de saison. 'Après quelques jours d’entraînement sur le Léman en Surprise et en Décision 35, nous sommes prêts pour Cardiff.'

L’étape anglaise du circuit des catamarans Extreme 40 promet un spectacle impressionnant dans la baie de Cardiff. Un plan d’eau que l’équipe connaît déjà puisqu’elle y a navigué l’an dernier. 'C’est un réel avantage de connaître la zone de navigation,' poursuit Clerc. 'Surtout dans un chenal si étroit, où les régates seront serrées.'

Face à dix concurrents talentueux, Realteam sait que la clé du succès tiendra dans la régularité à Cardiff. 'Nous avons déjà montré que nous sommes capables de faire de belles journées depuis le début de saison. Il faut maintenant que nous arrivions à en faire quatre d’affilée! Il va falloir tenir le rythme sur ces régates très intenses.'

America's Cup Defender christened "Taihoro"
