Brisbane will be the epicentre of all things boating and marine this weekend, starting Friday 12 and running over Monday 15 September.

Starting at Brisbane’s City Hall 53 years ago with only 11 exhibitors, the Brisbane Boat Show is a chance to check out the very latest in all things boating with five exhibitors alone chalking up in excess of 173 years showcasing boats.

With a catch cry of 'Everything marine under one roof', this is a boat show for boaties by boaties – some of whom have been exhibiting as part of the Brisbane Boat Show since its inception.

This year’s show will be held at the Brisbane Show Grounds, Bowen Hills, with 110 exhibitors across all strata of the boating and marine leisure industry, and an anticipated 30,000 visitors.

A state-wide PWC safety campaign called 'Ride for Life' will launch this Friday on the first day of the show, with the aim of encouraging people to ride their personal watercraft safely with the slogan 'Smart Riders are Safe Riders'.

'You can maximise your enjoyment of these fantastic, fun watercraft if you follow a few simple tips,' explains Don Jones, CEO at Marine Queensland of the initiative formed in partnership with the Department of Transport.

'This year’s show is going to be the biggest in terms of floor space, activity and exhibitors for about 10 years,' continues Jones. 'It will have a huge foot print due to exhibitor demand. We have even had to turn a few latecomers away!'
Jones says visitors to this year’s Brisbane Boat Show will enjoy 'a huge diversity of product'.

'This year we are especially proud of the new tackle precinct. Responding to feedback from visitors for premium products, that need will be met this year, thanks to our partnership with AFTA.'

For the kids, there’s the Kids Zone, with a number of marine-oriented attractions, including a large slide out of a shark’s mouth! There will also be the Yamaha Super Tank and presentations, and a new attraction for the grownups: a towing workshop aptly named 'Ramp Champ'.
