Boating Syndication eyes an Elandra

Boat share innovator Andy Young expressed a keen interest in developments at new luxury boat builder Elandra Yachts during a visit to the new company’s Gold Coast facility. Young took time between sea trials after the Sanctuary Cove boat show to discuss timing, design and indicative pricing with Elandra Yachts’ Managing Director Luke Durman. 'Luke described their plans for this first boat and it seems to fit our plans for quality, individuality and luxury,' said Young. 'Our owners are looking for something different and stylish. The Elandra that Luke described certainly fills that requirement. 'With 17 boats in our fleet and experience with hundreds of clients over the years, we have come to know what we need in a top-end boat. 'I was also impressed by the engineering on the Elandra. Every component is being specified to withstand the tough Australian oceans.' Durman explained that his team is eager to work with clients of the semi-custom Elandra sports yacht to develop the interior styling and fitout. 'We have drawn up plans for the entire boat,' said Durman. 'Now we want the input of experienced boaters who are our primary market. 'Andy Young and his team have strong opinions after four years of providing day-by-day service to their clients.' Young and Durman have agreed to continue discussions when they meet at the Sydney International Boat Show at the beginning of August. 'We will be able to reveal a great deal more at that time,' said Durman who continues to keep much of the design details under wraps in the early stage of development. 'We are utilising the highest quality components throughout,' he said. The first Elandra sports yacht is expected to be launched in time for Sydney boat show next year. 'The timing suits us well,' said Young. 'One of our luxury boats will come out of syndication around that time and I know a number of the owners are looking forward to stepping up to something new and exciting.' Boating Syndication Australia currently has 17 luxury boats in its fleets on Sydney Harbour and the Gold Coast Broadwater, ranging from a Riviera M360 sports cruiser to a pair of Belize motor yachts and two Princess motor yachts.
