Victory for Sepp at the 2014 Baltic Match Race ISAF
From 29-31 August, the ISAF Grade 2 Baltic Match Race was held in Tallinn, Estonia with teams from Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Korea, New Zealand and Australia competing.

Throughout the three day event there was a round robin, semi final and final. Three semi final spots were taken with ease by Reuben Corbett (NZL) who went in with a 9-1 scoreline, Olli-Pekka Lumijärvi (FIN) who finished 8-2 and Matthew Jerwood (AUS) was third with a 7-3 scoreline. Mati Sepp snuck into fourth with a 6-4 record.

Round robin winner Corbett chose to race against Jerwood which left Lumijärvi against Sepp. In the semi-finals both Corbett and Sepp won 2-0 but needed to put in a lot of effort. The final matches were a real fight and in both cases a final decisive match was needed. From one nil down Lumijärvi took third with a 2-1 victory. In the final Sepp took a strong lead to go ahead two nil but Corbett showed a real fighting spirit and closed gap to two apeice and made clear that everything would be decided in last match.

Sepp was able to put the pressure on Corbett from the beginning of the pre-start and he never gave up building his lead throughout the match and ended up with his first grade 2 victory. This was the first time in history where an Estonian match racer achieved such a result.
