Parti le vendredi 17 janvier à 14h52, pour tenter de battre le record de la Mauricienne ralliant Port-Louis en rade de Lorient et Port-Louis dans l'archipel des Mascareignes détenu depuis 2009 par Francis Joyon, Lionel Lemonchois a déclenché manuellement la balise de détresse de son Maxi80 Prince de Bretagne, ce lundi à 15h57, mais n'a pu être joint depuis.

Immédiatement, le CROSS Gris-Nez a prévenu son équipe à terre et pris en charges les opérations. Rappelons que le marin, qui entamait son onzième jour de mer, évoluait à environ 800 milles au large des côtes Brésiliennes, quasiment à la latitude de Rio de Janeiro, au prés dans un flux de sud-est soufflant entre 16 et 18 nœuds.

WMRT Geographe Bay Cup – David Gilmour still leads, but under pressure
The thrills and spills came fast on Geographe Bay, with the wind still virile, in 15 to 25 knot range during the day. It is all local skippers at the top of the leaderboard after day two of the regatta, with Matt Jerwood and Gilmour’s younger brother Lachy also just one point off the lead.
