BRIG lifestyle captured in print

by Sirocco Marine on 3 Mar 2015
Sirocco Marine - BRIG RIBS Sirocco Marine
Sirocco Marine, exclusive distributor for the BRIG brand of premium RIBS in Australia, recently took to local waters to shoot a lifestyle-themed brochure for its current range.

Neil Webster, Sirocco Marine' managing director said the locally-produced imagery conveys multiple messages and amplifies BRIG’s suitability to the Australian way of life.

'BRIG is all about lifestyle,' said Webster. 'Owning a BRIG is about investing in your family and friends. Boats are not a solo pursuit they bring and hold together family and friends better than anything else. So we wanted to portray the multiple uses of the boats – from day trips, to sporting pursuits, cruising the waterways, doing tender duty and all the other facets of the BRIG lifestyle.'

The second message conveyed is the broad range in the BRIG brand. 'We wanted to show that BRIG has the largest range of any inflatable boat manufacturer in Australia. Everything in our brochure is stocked Australia wide,' said Webster.

The brochure simply and clearly states all the model specifications, in an easily referenced guide. 'So the length, weights and engine recommendations are easily found and easy to understand,' added Webster.

Unlike previous product collateral, often shot in Europe, Sirocco Marine went to the effort of shooting the imagery in Australia, firmly placing the models in iconic locations such as Sydney Harbour, Hamilton Island, the Gold Coast and Perth.

'We flew out from England renowned marine photographer, Rupert Peace and his assistants to do a five day shoot. Rupert specialises in marine photography and has shot hundreds of superyachts around the world.'

Identifiable shots such as those under the harbour bridge are easily identified, but harder to identify are locations such as Obelisk Beach, Chowder Bay Mosman, Middle Harbour, Sydney Heads, Castle Rock Balmoral, and in Queensland, Whitehaven Beach , Hill Inlet and Blue Pearl Bay, among many others.

The brochure, available next week, will be Sirocco Marine’s main marketing collateral in 2015, distributed to clients and via boat shows, starting with Hillarys Boat Show, 24kms north of Perth, 6 to 8 March.

Exuding quality, the catalogue is more luxury lifestyle magazine than product brochure. Printed on high quality gloss paper with a rubberised coating on the cover to evoke the actual tactile impression of an inflatable boat, it features many satisfied BRIG owners in its 68pages – all of them happy to give up their time and anonymity in support of a brand they love and trust.

It also conveys the unique BRIG product values. Made of superior Hypalon material, BRIG RIBs are tough and resilient, standing up to the harsh UV exposure of the Aussie climate, while being gentle on a boat’s hull and teak decks.

As Webster explained, even in this digital age, there is a place for the printed brochure. 'Despite many companies moving away from brochures towards the web, Sirocco believes brochures still have an important part to play in educating the consumer.

'People like to touch and feel, to take something with them that’s tangible and portable and that conveys the lifestyle they crave'

Investment in such a high-end product is required in order to impart the brand values of the product line.

'Our attitude is if we are going to do it, we do it properly. Our mantra is ‘do what we do better than anybody’, so every year we try to push the boundaries and put effort into communicating our core messages to consumers.

'BRIG is the largest manufacturer of RIBs in the world. BRIG is Australia’s highest selling brand of RIBs, sold in every state of Australia. To become and stay the market leader BRIG and Sirocco continually reinvest in marketing, whether it be with new products, new marketing material or boat shows.

'Our re-sale values are the highest in the market and our after sales support Australia-wide is second to none. Our boat show attendance and our brochure are all examples of us re-investing in our brand.'
