Australian Women’s Match Racing 2014 - Best match racing on Swan River

by Royal Perth Yacht Club on 5 Sep 2014
Royal Perth Yacht Club - Australian Women’s Match Racing Championship 2014 Royal Perth Yacht Club .
Australian Women’s Match Racing Championship 2014 - Royal Perth Yacht Club will be hosting the Australian Women’s Match Racing Championship from the 12th of 14th of September 2014.

There will be an opportunity for Club members to view the racing from on-board the changeover boat ‘Challenger’, which is equipped with shade and a toilet. Alternatively, if you have your own boat you may wish to use it to view the racing. Anchored spectator boats are often used in pre-start manoeuvres, which can be very exciting for those on-board!

The following skippers and their teams will be competing in the event;
• Milly Bennett (RPAYC) – world ranking: 8
• Rayshele Martin (CYCA) – world ranking 18
• Emma May (CYCA) – world ranking 20
• Katie Spithill (RPAYC-MOFSC) – world ranking 56
• Sarah Parker (RPAYC) – not ranked
• Jenny Richardson (RPYC) – not ranked

We encourage you to take the opportunity to go out on the water and support the RPYC team and the other competitors. Racing will take place from 1330 on Friday the 12th of September and from 0945 on Saturday and Sunday. We suggest arriving at the Club 45 minutes to an hour before the start time to ensure you don’t miss the boat! All racing will take place in Matilda Bay, so even if you can’t make it out on the water you should be able to view the racing from the Club as well.

There is no need to book a place on-board the spectator boat, as Challenger will be out on the race course regardless. Securing a place on-board will be on a first come, first served basis.
If you have any questions regarding spectator opportunities or the event, please contact the Club on 9389 1555 or email Event website
