The Aquece Rio – Int'l Sailing Regatta has drawn to a close with the Laser, Laser Radial and 470 honours being picked up The Aquece Rio – International Sailing Regatta 2014 has drawn to a close with the Laser, Laser Radial and 470 honours being picked up on the final day of action. The Laser and Laser Radial gold medals went the way of Tom Burton (AUS) and Anne Marie Rindom (DEN).

The Aquece Rio – International Sailing Regatta 2014 will conclude on Saturday 9 August. The Aquece Rio – International Sailing Regatta 2014 will conclude on Saturday 9 August with the medals to be decided in the Men’s and Women’s 470, Laser and Laser Radial on the Pão de Açucar race track. Cloud and scattered showers were visible outside the 60 Medal Race sailors’ windows on the final day.

Rio de Janeiro threw out glamorous conditions as the racing concluded in the 49er, 49erFX, Finn and Nacra 17 classes. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil threw out glamorous conditions as the racing concluded in the 49er, 49erFX, Finn and Nacra 17 on a breezy day at the Aquece Rio - International Sailing Regatta 2014. Billy Besson and Marie Riou (FRA) stayed strong to take the Nacra 17 honours.

Aquece Rio Int'l Regatta - Medals to be decided in four classes
Racing in the 49er, 49erFX, Finn and Nacra 17 will conclude on 8 August with the Medal Races across the four fleets. Racing in the 49er, 49erFX, Finn and Nacra 17 will conclude on Friday 8 August with the Medal Races across the four fleets bringing their racing to a close at Aquece Rio – International Sailing Regatta 2014. All racing will take place inside Guanabara Bay and the conditions are set to be fair across the three race courses that will be used.

Aquece Rio Int'l Regatta- van Rijsselberge and Picon claim RS-X wins
Dorian van Rijsselberge (NED) and Charline Picon (FRA) took the Men's and Women's RS:X honours at Aquece Rio. Dorian van Rijsselberge (NED) and Charline Picon (FRA) took the Men's and Women's RS:X honours at Aquece Rio – International Sailing Regatta 2014 as the Medal Races on Pão de Açucar brought the windsurfing proceedings to an end. Giles Scott (GBR) wrapped up gold in the Finn with a race to spare whilst the Medal Race places were confirmed in the 49er, 49erFX, Finn and Nacra 17.

Aquece Rio Int'l Sailing Regatta - Five AST crews in medal positions
Three single point theatre style races will decide the medals on Friday eight August local time (Saturday a.m. AEST). 2014 Aquece Rio International Sailing Regatta - Five Australian Sailing Team crews are in medal positions in five of the six classes with Australian representation, ahead of tomorrow’s first day of medal races at the Rio Olympic Test event, Aquece Rio – International Regatta 2014.
