Oracle Team USA launched their AC45S in Bermuda and had a first sail on Monday.
The AC45S is the so-called Sport version of the AC45 one design, meaning that it is fitted with custom build foils and has a beam and proportions which more closely resemble the measurements ratio expected for the AC48.
Oracle Team USA is expected to be joined by Challenger Artemis Racing (SWE) sailing on the island venue for the next America's Cup, 650nm out into the Atlantic Ocean.
Ben Ainsile Racing, the British Challenger has a base in Portsmouth, England, but has been sailing 20ft two crew, foiling catamaran in Bermuda, and were the first team to sail at the venue.
