The 2012 Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX) has generated considerable interest, enquiry and a steady stream of registrations.

ASMEX is a 2 day event (22-23 May 2012) prior to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, and will bring together key industry stakeholders: boat builders, Captains, owners, service providers and marine industry manufacturers. A key focus of the Superyacht and Marine export industry is promoting Australia as a key cruising destination, highlighting the excellent refit & repair services plus the wide range of quality Superyacht, commercial and leisure boating products and services available in the Australian market.

Given the current climate, organisers, the Australian Marine Export Group (AIMEX) and Superyacht Australia, are aware that a conference such as this is important for everyone.

AIMEX CEO MaryAnne Edwards said 'Whilst it is impossible to predict the future, it is imperative for businesses to better understand the current operating environment and where future opportunities and sales may come from.'

Along with highly regarded industry speakers, there will be a Welcome Registration Cocktail Party sponsored by Sevenstar Yacht Transport on Monday 21 May 6.30 to 8.30pm ‘Poolside’ at the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove.

'That will be a great opportunity to meet delegates prior to Day 1 of the conference and enjoy excellent food and wine in a relaxed environment,' said Edwards.

There will be a Conference Dinner being held at one of the Gold Coast’s best known theme parks on Tuesday night 22 May from 6.30pm till late with live entertainment, food and wine. This event was a highlight in 2011 and is sure to impress once again.

The social program (Welcome Registration and Dinner) is included in the registration fee for delegates.
Additional tickets can be purchased for partners and colleagues if required all rates are available on the registration at www.aimex.asn.au.

AIMEX has ensured that registration fees have been kept to a minimum to ensure the opportunity to attend is available to everyone. Registration fees are $275 for members and $350 for non-members (inclusive of social program).

Attendees include global industry contacts from UK, UAE, US, Europe and Australia including manufacturers, boat builders, industry service providers and key media. ASMEX is the only Australian marine export and Superyacht conference providing a significant platform for sharing of industry information and networking, the conference will provide updates on key information relating to the industry in the US, Europe and Asia and will have a strong focus on the opportunities for Australia.

Key speakers from AMSA, GBRMPA, Marine Industry Working Group, the Manufacturing Task Force, Treasury and Tourism Australia will provide an overview on developments Superyacht Australia and AIMEX has made to remove barriers to business in the past 12 months.

ASMEX has been sponsored and supported by Gold Coast City Council, Business Gold Coast, Department of Innovation, Industry Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE), Queensland Government, Tourism Australia, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Sevenstar Yacht Transport and Ocean Media.

Registrations can be completed via the Superyacht Australia website www.superyacht-australia.com and the AIMEX website www.aimex.asn.au.
