ASMEX 2012 registrations open

The ASMEX 2012 programme is shaping up to be an excellent agenda including key industry heavy weights covering many of the topical issues for Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Businesses today.

Included in the programme will be an update regarding the legislative restrictions for the Superyacht Industry with a senior representative from AMSA attending to speak regarding this, a Customs representative will also cover the GST issues with visiting yachts and developments with this, and GBRMPA will present regarding the Great Barrier Reef and on the 35m rule.

In addition the programme will cover updates regarding the Manufacturing Task Force and opportunities and strategies for Australian manufacturers. Austrade will present regarding their operational changes and the services now available to businesses as well as providing an overview of the opportunities for business in the Asia Pacific region. The conference will also provide a platform for businesses to reinvigorate strategies and networks with tools to assist in returning your business to health in the current market.

The social programme for ASMEX 2012 will be a highlight again with Sevenstar Yacht Transport sponsoring the Welcome Registration by the ‘Poolside’ at the prestigious Hyatt Regency, Sanctuary Cove where guests will enjoy an evening of entertainment, fine food and wine by the candle lit lagoon.



Speakers for 2012 include: The Superyacht Group will be presenting the results of their ‘State of the Industry’ paper, giving an overview of the fleet, order book, and market activity, and highlighting the situation and the potential for Australia as a part of this.

Marco Struik, Managing Director of Struik & Hamerslag, a significant and well known European Yacht Interior and Refit company has confirmed his attendance at the conference and will speak about the refit and repair industry globally.

Thom Dammrich, President NMMA and Director of ICOMIA providing a current overview of the USA Superyacht and recreational boating industry.

Tourism Australia Key Address - the importance of the Superyacht Industry to Australia's Tourism and TA's strategy for this industry.

America's Cup Defender christened "Taihoro"
Cup Defender named “To move swiftly as the sea between both sky and earth.” In a stirring ceremony, Iwi Ngati Whatua Orakei gifted and blessed the name ‘Taihoro' on the boat that Emirates Team NZ will sail in their defence of the 37th America's Cup.
