AC45 World Series San Diego - Practice day Sander van der Borch / Artemis Racing http://www.sandervanderborch.com
Artemis Racing, Challenger of Record for the 34th America’s Cup, will begin training tomorrow in Naples, Italy for the fourth America’s Cup World Series (ACWS) event, which gets underway on 11th April and runs to 15th April.

Skipper Terry Hutchinson (USA) and the Artemis Racing crew will be competing in AC45s against eight other professional sailing crews from seven countries.

'The thing that is nice about racing in Naples and Venice is that the Italians have had a passion for the America’s Cup and it will be great to put this new era of the America’s Cup on display with the addition of Luna Rossa to the competition,' said Skipper Terry Hutchinson.

'For Neapolitans, the racing is going to be exciting to watch. It’s going to be fast paced. One thing that we’ve seen at the past regattas is that the people who come down and watch it leave with a good impression of the racing and what we’re doing with the America’s Cup. So, I would encourage everybody to come down and watch,' added Hutchinson.

Artemis Racing continues to rotate crew into the ACWS as part of the team’s preparations for the Louis Vuitton Cup – America’s Cup Challenger Series and 34th America’s Cup, which will take place in San Francisco from July-September 2013.

The crew onboard the Artemis Racing AC45 in Naples includes:

Terry Hutchinson (USA) – Helm
Curtis Blewett (CDA) – Bow
Andy Fethers (AUS) - Float
Rodney Ardern (NZL) – Wing
Morgan Trubovich (NZL) – Trim
Stu Bettany (NZL) – Reserve

'Naples is a good place to race with consistent thermal winds. Typically, there is not a lot of wing 8-10 knots, but technically it is certainly a ‘valid’ venue,' said Paul Cayard, CEO of Artemis Racing.

Following on from the ACWS Naples, the teams will race in Venice, Italy (May 15-20) then Newport, USA (June 27-July 1), to conclude the 2011-2012 ACWS season.
