The 31st Impulse Australian Championships were superbly hosted by the Keppel Bay Sailing Club, Yeppoon, Qld, between the 29th of December 2014 to the fourth of January 2015.

33 boats from QLD, NSW, VIC and SA contested the series which was held over 10 races in mostly fresh conditions.

There were four different race winners during the regatta, however, the battle for overall honours was an extremely close tussle between Lake Macquarie competitor Michael Brown sailing 'Cosmosoarus' and local Keppel Bay competitor Steve Gunther sailing 'Stevie's Toy'.

Brown prevailed and won his fifth Impulse Australian Championship by a margain of a single point. In third place was Brisbane Sailing Squadron competitor David Harrison sailing 'Alabama'.

This was the first occasion the Queensland Impulse Association had decided to host the event outside SE Queensland, and the event and location was well received by all competitors.

Preparations are now underway by the Victorian Impulse Association who will be hosting the the 32nd Impulse Australian hampionships at the Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club, Paynesville over the Christmas - New Year perod 2015/2016.
