Just before the final day of the European Soling Championship,a duel for the title becomes apparent. The Hungarian team of Farkas Litkey and the Austrian Crew with the former European Champion Thomas Binder are tied after six races. The showdown on the last day will provide a decision. Chances for Sándor Varjas (HUN) and soling legend Peter Hall (CAN) are still alive to take the title from the lurking position.

The race on the third day and also the strike-result brought some movement in the standings. While the Austrian Team of Christian Binder could hold the second place, the two Hungarian teams changed positions.

“We took the lead after three days – I’m very satisfied. I have very good and reliable team. We do a good job in adjusting to the challenging weather-conditions. Christian Binder and his crew are tough opponents; we are looking forward to an exciting show-down.” the new leader Farkas Litkey recaps.

Sándor Varjas (HUN) und Peter Hall (CAN) are still in a lurking-position. The soling legend from Canada is still positive “We are currently on the fourth place. The Traunsee is a beautiful lake, but it’s hard for us to compete with domestic teams, as they know the lake much better. But we are in a good position and looking forward to attack once again tomorrow.”

The winners of the day come from the Ukraine. Igor Yushko and his team handled to win already the second race during this competition, they currently take the fifth place.
