RUNAWAY - Line honour winners in the 2016 Bartercard Coffs to Paradise Yacht Race Bronwen Hemmings
2016 Bartercard Coffs to Paradise Yacht Race – At 0059hrs this morning, Saturday 9th January 2016, Drew Carruthers’ Sayer 11, Runaway crossed the finish line to take line honours victory.
Following a solid three hours later the second vessel across the line was David Hows Beneteau 445, Ocean Gem finishing first (first) in the IRC division, followed closely by Graham Furtado and Brian Pozzey’s Say 11.9 Frantic.
Stormy Petrel skippered by owner Drew Jones has this morning finished first (first) in the PHS division. “It was a great run up the coast, we are extremely happy with our results, and look forward to another week of racing in this beautiful weather” said Drew.
With a couple of days break from sailing, the majority of the fleet will be competing in next week’s Bartercard Sail Paradise Regatta along with 50 plus other yachts, held on the Gold Coast shoreline from Wednesday 13rd to Sunday 17th January.
