Belmont 16ft Sailing Club will be hosting the 2015 SLAM Combined High Schools Sailing Championships from Tuesday 7th -11th April. The Notice of Race for the regatta has been released and online entries are now open.
Entries are open to all classes and competitors who are currently attending an Australian High School. The five-day regatta has become a favourite with sailing enthusiasts, with its focus on offering fun, competitive, high quality racing for all competitors - irrespective of the class of boat.
The event is highly regarded as the training ground for many of our future champions, with many winners of the event continuing on to Volvo Ocean Races, America’s Cup, Olympic, World and National Champions.
It is anticipated that a record number of boats will compete in the regatta to challenge for the overall title. The current defending champion Henry Makin (Avondale College) was only the third helmsman in the history of the event to win back to back titles, and he is set to return for his final series and defend the title.
Online entries will be open right up until the regatta commences and competitors are encouraged to get their entries in early. Entries received after the 27th March 2015, will incur a late entry fee.
