The 2015 O’pen BIC World Championships (World O’pen Cup) will be held at Safety Beach Sailing Club, Melbourne Twenty Seven December 2015 – Third January 2016.
This is the first time the event has been hosted in Australia, in the picturesque spot of the Mornington Peninsula, Port Phillip. The past venues have seen the World O’pen Cup take place in USA, Italy, Germany and many other countries. With well over 100 boats in attendance at each regatta it is an amazing spectacle.
This year’s World O’pen Cup will be closely contested with some of the best up-and-coming juniors the sailing world has to offer. Kristen Wadley will be a name to watch out for. The current Australian National Champion was recently voted QLD junior sailor of the year and has improved considerably since then. Jack Challands and Michael Parks are some of the local talent you can expect to see mixing it up at the top, but with exceptional international talent arriving
This is a rare opportunity in which junior sailors get to compete in a world championships with no qualifying.
Get behind all of the talent, local and international and follow them and their journey through the 2015 World O’pen Cup this coming Christmas period.
