2015 Lipton Cup Regatta – Entries open

by Royal Yacht Club of Victoria on 23 Sep 2015
Fleet in action - 2015 Lipton Cup Regatta RYCV
Entries have opened for this year’s Lipton Cup Regatta, which will be held over the weekend of 14 and 15 November 2015. This will be the tenth running of the event, and your Organising Committee is hard at work making sure that this will be the best yet. We look forward to seeing you in November!

The Royal Yacht Club of Victoria has again partnered with the Williamstown Sailing Club and the Port Melbourne Yacht Club to put together a fun and affordable regatta program that caters for all sailing enthusiasts, from serious racers to those who prefer something a little more relaxed and social.

Last year’s fleet of 165 boats was the largest to compete in the Lipton so far. The weather was absolute perfect on the Saturday, and to see 165 boats of all shapes and sizes competing in ideal conditions with the Melbourne skyline as a backdrop was a magnificent sight.

The Lipton Cup Regatta is supported by the Nautilus Marine Insurance, Penfold Motors, Musto, Exide Batteries, Robert Oatley Vineyards, the McLaren Vale Beer and Doyle Sails. The Organising Committee would like to thank these businesses for their support, and making the event possible.

Keelboat divisions

For serious keelboat and sportsboat sailors, there is the challenge of windward-leeward races on the Saturday followed by a longer distance race on the Sunday.

Competitors in the cruising divisions will enjoy one longer distance race each day, with plenty of time to relax on the deck back at the Club.

The Notice of Race and on-line entry are available through the event website. Entries close at 12 noon on 11 November 2015.

Off-the-beach divisions

Once again Williamstown Sailing Club will be hosting most of the monohull dinghy OTB class races whilst Port Melbourne Yacht Club will be hosting some dinghy but mostly multi-hull class races. There will be three races for Off The Beach and Trailables.

The Notice of Race (NoR) and on-line entry, are available through the event website. Entries close at closes at 10.30 am on 14 November 2015 for off-the-beach classes.
