2015 Extreme Sailing Series - Seve Jarvin will skipper an all-Australian crew this week (5-8 February) as Team GAC Pindar aim for a podium finish in the first leg of the Extreme Sailing Series™ in Singapore.

Joining Jarvin in Singapore as the Under-25 crew member is James Wierzbowski, who was a key GAC Pindar crew member for much of the 2014 season, manning the Mainsail Trimmer. Tyson Lamond (Bowman), Jack Macartney (Tactician) and Marcus Ashley-Jones (Headsail Trimmer) complete the Australian contingent for the season opener in Singapore.

GAC Pindar will compete under a joint Anglo-Aussie flag for the 2015 Extreme Sailing Series™, with the skipper responsibilities shared between Jarvin and British four-time World Match Racing Tour champion, Ian Williams.

Jarvin comments: 'It’s incredibly exciting to be named as co-skipper alongside a sailor of Ian’s pedigree. I’m confident the two of us can work together to really push the team on and compete at the top end of the series. We’re looking forward to taking the challenge to the rest of the field in front of a big crowd, surrounded by the magnificent Singapore skyline. We’re expecting light, tricky winds and maybe even a few thunderstorms, so we’ll have to be prepared for anything.'

GAC Pindar Principal, Andrew Pindar says, 'As the Official Logistics Supplier to the Extreme Sailing Series™, we have seen the spectacular growth of the Series first hand. It is clear that catamaran racing is an ever-more important part of the sailing arena.'

GAC Group Marketing Director, Sean Bradley adds, 'We’re absolutely delighted to be involved with the Extreme Sailing Series once again for the 2015 series. The opportunities that a truly global series like this creates for our company are fantastic, not only for VIP clients around the iconic event locations but also important CSR activities that we link with our local offices and the ESS boat team. Our role as official logistics partner to OC Sport allows us to showcase our expertise and ability around the world.'

Racing begins Thursday 5 February at 14:30 (GMT+8).
