2014 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship NoR released

The 2014 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship Notice of Race has been released. The event is set to be held in Cork, Ireland from 3-8 June 2014.

Organized by the Royal Cork Yacht Club (RCYC) in conjunction with the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), the regatta will welcome the world's top female match racers as they battle it out to claim the title.

Using J/80 Match Racing Yachts with a crew of four or five, invitations to skippers will be sent based on the 5 February 2014 ISAF Match Race Rankings release.

The ISAF Women's Match Racing Worlds is an annual event which was first held in Genoa, Italy in 1999 after a successful event was held as part of the 1998 ISAF Sailing World Championship in Dubai, UAE.

Skippers are invited to attend the Championship based on their ISAF World Match Racing Ranking position.

Denmark's Dorte Jensen is the most successful sailor having amassed four World Championship ISAF Website

Reigning Melges 24 World Champion Chris Rast from Switzerland is competing at his second M32 regatta of the year. One of those top guys will be the young Sam Gilmour, another 49er sailor but who also has the benefit of a strong match racing background. The young sailor from Perth, Western Australia, put in a strong performance at the $1 million World Championship Finals in Sweden earlier this month.

50th Governor's Cup International Junior Match Racing continues
The winds were light when racing started at noon. The temperature was in the high 80’s for most of the day. Racing resumed on another beautiful day in Southern California. The twelve teams were towed out to the race course by the Race Committee boat with PRO (Principal Race Officer) Don Becker and his support team aboard.
