The 18ft Skiff Ferry Patrons Trophy 2013 kicked off the competition Sunday on Sydney Harbour with Mojo Wine cruising to an easy victory. It was a more relaxed affair, following on from the high adrenalin levels of the final race of the JJ Giltinan.

Mojo Wine's James Dorran, Ricky Bridges, and Mike McKensey were always in contention in the shifty 15 knots ESE Course 6 electing to go hard left up the final beat to gain a narrow lead from DeLonghi Rabbitohs, steered yesterday by Andrew (Stray) Cudihy, with regular helm Simon Nearn on sheet and Keegan York, bow.

This race saw many crew shuffles and replacement skippers, one being Dan Phillips on Smeg, who used David Gibsons sheet hand skills to compliment Dave (Gill) Ewings bow work to bring Smeg across in third to round out the Podium. Another helm change was a huge surprise, with Iain (Jethro) Murray, replacing Seve Jarvin on this years JJ Giltinan champion skiff Gotta Luv it 7.

A huge effort on Iain's part but probably even bigger effort coming from regular crew Scott Babbage and Pete Harris to keep it all together, well almost. John Winning's Yandoo with Jim Beck and Noddy Hay finished fourth ahead of Team Daly with Michael Carter replacing Nick Daly in fifth place.

Pick the Podium saw nine entries go into the hat with Doug Cameron coming out to win this weeks pair of cool Barzoptics Floater Sunnies, plus the Bragging Rights that go to our weekly winner. Next Sunday's race is a scratch race so revert your strategies.
