We’re pleased to be able to announce that Sail-World.com broke existing readership records in September, with visits to the site topping a massive 1.2 million for the month. This is almost double the previous record of 650,000 set in September 2012, off the back of the Weymouth Olympics.
Naturally sites like AmericasCup.com beat us for short event periods but they drop away, the instant their event is over.
The history of these major events is they bring us expanded audiences and we hold a substantial portion of the newbies on every occasion.
Sail-World.com had over 560,000 unique visitors in the month, who read on average nine stories per visit, and stayed over 20 minutes on the site, up from 250,000 in August.

In terms of ratings against other websites, according to the independent Alexa rankings, Sail-World.com is the top sailing news website in the world, ranking at around 20,000th in the world.
We have occupied that position since February 2013, when we started sending our content in 61 languages, with now 15 of them, with a Sail-World specialised sailing glossary of more than a thousand words and phrases. Mandarin has been the latest addition and that is set to have a major impact
As you can see, from the Alexa ranking graph - this ' down under 'view of the sailing world has proven very popular.
While we are a very proud Asia-Pacific born website, dominating the local boating news scenes, our busiest time of the day is Sydney 2am, Auckland 4am because of our big North American and European audiences, across 12 marine sites.
