A strong breeze is forecast for the final race of the 64th JJ Giltinan 18ft Skiff Championship being sailed on Sydney Harbour, at 3.00pm.
PredictWind is showing a breeze at increasing through the day to an 18kts average at the race start time of 3.00pm - less than yesterday and which should be sailable.
The winds are also predicted be in the NNE and steady throughout the day.
This prognosis has been based on a reference point in the centre of Sydney Harbour, and will obviously vary on the edges of the course
Developed by former Olympian, Jon Bilger (470, 1992), PredictWind application was used by the Swiss team Alinghi to win the 2003 and 2007 America's Cups, and has become the leading wind system used by racing and recreational sailors around the world. It is available on a subscription basis and also with a free forecast option.
A mobile app for Andriod and iPhone is available and PredictWind is probably the most used app on the Sail-World iPhone.

Viewing the JJ Giltinan 18 Ft Skiffs:
Spectator ferries will follow each of the seven races in the championship, leaving Double Bay Wharf 30 minutes before the start of each race. Races 1 and 6 (Saturdays 16 and 23 February) start at 4pm while all other races start at 3pm.
Races 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 will be sailed on 17, 19, 20, 21 and 24 February.
