Tue, 16 Oct 2012
Team photographer, Chris Cameron was on the Hauraki Gulf today for Day 12 of the Emirates Team New Zealand AC72 testing programme on the Waitemata Harbour and Hauraki Gulf.
The catamaran was lifted into the Viaduct Harbour before 7am. With chaseboats in close attendance, it left the dock before 9am to allow the team to get through the day’s test programme ahead of stronger winds predicted for later in the afternoon.
It was sailing day 12 of the 30 permitted before the end of January next year. The cat performed well in a south-west breeze in the low to mid 20s with gusts to 28 knots.
Back at the dock by 2pm, the yacht will be prepared for another day on the water tomorrow, again in a fresh breeze.
