Kirby Inc. yesterday dramatically increased the pressure on LP, ISAF and the ILCA when they asked the US Federal Court in Connecticut to issue a prejudgment remedy against LP.
If this was to be granted as requested LP and its associates would be unable to build Lasers or have anyone else build them for them, while the Courts then could take their time hearing the case.

The Selection Committee for the 47th Annual Governor’s Cup International Junior Match Race Championship has completed work on selection of the 12 international and US teams that will compete in this year’s regatta which will be held at Balboa Yacht Club from July 16-21 in Newport Beach, California.

The sixth edition of the Korea Cup International Yacht Race is now underway off the eastern coastline of Korea. On the second day of Match Race Germany, Lake Constance remained well behaved. A light sub-10 knot northwesterly blowing down the lake allowed Rudi Magg’s race management team to hold eight flights, leaving all twelve teams having sailed nine races of this Qualifying stage of the event.

The inaugural Women's International Match Racing Series got underway today with the first event in St Quay-Portrieux, France. Lucy Macgregor of Great Britain summed up seven straight victories, shining alone undefeated at the top of the scoreboard. But her day wasn't at all as relaxed as the results may imply; 'No, we had a few close matches, also coming from behind,' she comments.

Speaking about the 2014 A2B Ocean Race, Dalton said – 'over recent years there has been quite a decline in the off-shore racing circuit in NZ. The start of Match Race Germany was marked by a lengthy day of Lake Constance. With the wind off Langenargen just strong enough to sail but rarely getting above ten knots, the organisers ripped through ten flights of the qualifying round, bringing all of the twelve international teams up to five races sailed.

With the 29th edition of this prestigious sailing event in North Holland, the organisers and Delta Lloyd will be entering a new era. Organizers for the 2013 Adria Ferries ORC International World Championship have published the list of entries that are set to take part in the event held in Ancona, Italy over 21-29 June 2013. To maintain the highest possible standards for the event, organizers have put limits on the number of entries eligible to race, so there are now 100 confirmed entries and 22 yachts on the waiting list.

The 2014-15 edition of the Global Ocean Race will welcome one of motor racing's engineering and design geniuses as an entrant. Mike Gascoyne will be joining the eight teams already preparing for the start. Recently a young Kiwi team headed over to Japan for the annual three day youth regatta – the International Friendship All Japan Junior Yacht Club Regatta 2013 from the third – fifth of May. The team of three young and upcoming Kiwi sailors was led by North Sails New Zealand Purchasing Manager Hayden Whitburn who himself has competed in the very same regatta back in 2000.

America's Cup organisers, Golden Gate Yacht Club, have appointed a six-strong team to investigate and report on the facts of the Artemis incident, last Thursday, and to recommend on safety issues for the event.
The group is working in conjunction with the US Coast Guard who must issue SLR's (Special Local Regulations) for the event to proceed.

The 2013 Lysekil Women’s Match is set to take place 5-10 August and Danish match racing star Camilla Ulrikkeholm is one of the skippers already having accepted an invitation to this year’s event. British Olympian Lucy Macgregor, Claudia Pierce of New Zealand and last year’s rookie Alexa Bezel of Switzerland (runner-up in Lysekil 2012) will be some of her competitors.
