1st Heaven n Hell - Bay of Islands Sailing Week Various Incl Will Calver and Lesley Haslar

Bay of Islands' Sailing Week 2014 was another excellent regatta brilliantly run by Ray Haslar and team.

Congrats to Chris Binning and crew on Heaven 'n' Hell for a clear victory on 10 points from 8 races.

It was all on for the rest of the places with War Machine ending up second on 21 points, Heartlight third on 24 points and Medium Dry fourth on 25 points:

Y88 Series results can be found here http://www.bayofislandssailingweek.org.nz/Results-2014/Series/Y88-Series-2014.pdf

There were many highlights including:

* The dockside 'debriefs' accompanied by The Mount Gay 'Loving Cup' and the biggest base speaker set up any boat has ever seen on Heaven 'n' Hell mostly playing weird and wonderful music

* Club 88 Party with killer Medium Dry cocktails. Big thanks to Phil and the boys for hosting:

* oh yeah and the racing was extremely close and as per some of the photos there was one bay race where the lead swapped loads of times and at several points you could have stepped from boat to boat through the fleet.

It was great to hear at prize giving that the Millennium Cup Superyacht Regatta will be part of Bay Week next year ensuring that the event is bigger than ever.

Thanks again to all the volunteers who make it happen and the pro photo/videographers Will Calver of www.oceangallery.co.nz/ and Lesley Hasler

Mark Jan 20-24 2015 in your calendar now, and book your leave. Cruising the boat up North for January and returning after the regatta is a brilliant option. Don't miss it!
