Volvo Ocean Race - Equipe holandesa contrata dinamarquês e espanhol

As equipes que disputam a Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15 estão se reforçando para correr as regatas. O Team Brunel anunciou, nesta segunda-feira (20), a contratação de dois tripulantes: o dinamarquês Jens Dolmer, de 44 anos, e o espanhol Pablo Arrarte, de 33 anos. O barco holandês será comandado por Bouwe Bekking. Nesta semana, o time conhecerá outros quatro velejadores. Todos irão passar por mais outra bateria de testes, inclusive uma velejada de Southampton, na Inglaterra, até Lanzarote, na Espanha a bordo do moderno barco de 65 pés.

A chegada da dupla Jens Dolmer e Pablo Arrarte dá um salto de qualidade e experiência para o Team Brunel. Os dois já participaram da Volvo Ocean Race. Jens Dolmer, por exemplo, disputará a Volta ao Mundo pela segundo vez. Em 2008-09, o dinamarquês navegou a bordo do sueco Ericsson 3. 'A Volvo Ocean Race é uma das maiores competições da vela. Depois de ter participado uma vez, eu volto para ganhar'.


O espanhol Pablo Arrarte esteve presente nas duas últimas edições. Em 2008-09, foi tripulante ao lado do holandês Bouwe Bekking no Telefónica Blue.Em 2011-12, mais uma vez defendeu um barco de seu país: o Telefónica. 'Vou somar com minha experiência. Conto a horas para velejar no novo barco, que será igual pra todos', falou o espanhol.

Além do Team Brunel, outras três equipes estão confirmadas para a Volvo Ocean Race: Team SCA, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing e Dongfeng Race Team. Mais times devem ser anunciados nos próximos meses.
