The 28th Phuket King’s Cup Regatta under Royal Patronage is proudly sponsored by PTT Global Chemical for the second year running. To inspire Thai youngsters to take up sports sailing, PTT is also sponsoring two junior events under the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta Dinghy Series Race 2014, an international Dinghy Classes race competition.

Supattanapong Punmeechaow, President & Chief Executive Officer at PTT Global Chemical, said, 'It is an honor to be able to promote sailing as a sport for young people and help develop the skills of young sailors here in Thailand. The country's 2014 Optimist World Championship win in Argentina demonstrates the growing popularity and potential of Thai juniors in this sport, and we are committed to supporting its development and raising the international profile of Thai sailing.'

Kevin Whitcraft, President of the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta Organizing Committee, expressed his gratitude to PTT for its support: 'I'd like to say Thank You to PTT Global Chemical for their kind support over the last two years. At last year’s Regatta, the junior series was a real success and the support this year will prove to be a great contribution to competitive sailing development in Thailand.'

The Phuket Dinghy Series was introduced in 2010 as part of the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta, creating a network between sailing clubs to inspire more youths in Thailand to take up the sport, especially the Optimist challenge for the under 15s, with races at Kata Beach on November 29 – 31. This year, the third Phuket King’s Cup Regatta International Dinghy Classes will be held on December 1 – 5, 2014.

The Phuket King’s Cup Regatta will be held from November 29 to 6 December, 2014. Sponsors of the 2014 Phuket King's Cup Regatta include Kata Group Resorts Thailand, PTT Global Chemical, FINCA de MALPICA by Siam Winery, Haadthip PLC, and Sunsail. Media Partners include Phuket Gazette, Sail-World.com, SEA Yachting, YachtStyle Asia, Prestige, Real Life Magazine, The Guide Phuket, Image Asia, Art & Culture, and Phuket Marine Guide
