NORTH SAILS LEADING TECHNOLOGY POWERS RECORD SETTERS NEW AND OLD

From period-correct to fully composite, world-class sailing yachts are turning heads with North Sails. SV Atlantic, a 240’ replica of the three-masted schooner that set the record for a trans-Atlantic crossing in 1905, has recently hoisted a fresh 10-sail inventory of NordacTM sails. Meanwhile, Jim and Kristy Hinze Clark's recently launched 100' super-maxi Comanche is raising expectations for unmatched speeds. Comanche sails with a seven-piece inventory of North Sails 3Di® Raw - the latest in composite sailmaking.

Atlantic and Comanche took to Newport Harbor early last month and rendezvoused again in Charleston last week. While these sail projects represent opposite ends of the North Sails product range, both applied the same formula for success. It starts with a sales consultant asking the right questions and establishing the best product solutions. The design and build efforts are science-based and collaborative, drawing on experience from throughout North Technology Group. And the job comes full circle with the salesman ensuring that the installation and setup is perfect during the sea trials.

"On behalf of North Sails, we'd like to congratulate the extended teams who brought both of these projects to life, using the same care and methodology that goes into projects for all of our clients," said Dan Neri, COO North Sails. full story

EASTON & BURD CLAIM 2014 ZHIK F18 US NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH
NORTH DESIGNS

Corpus Christi Bay delivered a range of conditions at the Nationals, allowing various teams to show their range of skills, and showcase strengths of the different sail and hull designs within the Formula 18 box rule. A development focus for the F18 began earlier this year - spurred by the relationship between class leaders and representatives at North Sails One Design. With a proven track record in the class, Mike Easton and Tripp Burd secured another victory onboard their Falcon F18. This was an encouraging win for the North Sails design team of JB Braun and Mike Marshall, who will continue to refine sail shapes for the F18 with valuable input from the class.
