Laser Masters World Championships - Weather delays racing

by Rob Lowndes/Sail-World on 7 Oct 2014
2014 Laser Master Worlds Thom Thow Photography
Not the best start yesterday at the Laser Masters World Championship. Two races were scheduled with the first at 11:00am. No wind until 3:00pm when we were sent afloat in a nice late breeze, just before our start it dropped to almost nothing and the Radial fleets were sent back to shore around 5:00pm. Standard rigs in another course area got one race in.

Prospect today not much better and they have delayed the start until at least 1230. Wed layday now looks certain to be a race day coinciding with stronger wind forecast for rest of regatta. The top guys are already shining in ultra competitive three Standard rig fleets.
