ISAF recognized training for Singapore

by ISAF on 30 Oct 2014 The Singapore Sailing Federation has successfully undergone an accreditation audit of the National Sail Training Program.

Singapore Sailing becomes the tenth ISAF MNA to undergo this process, which involves national sailing federations working with the International Sailing Federation in 'mapping' National Sail Training Programs against an international agreed framework of 'best practice' guidelines.

Singapore Sailing will join ISAF MNAs in Great Britain, New Zealand, Italy, Austria, Oman, Spain, France, the Netherlands and South Africa in delivering an internationally recognized sail training program.

The ISAF Recognized Training Accreditation audit was carried out by ISAF Nominated Expert as well as ISAF Development and Youth Committee Chairman Olivier Bovyn (FRA), assisted by ISAF Nominated Expert Andy Jeffrey (GBR).

Head of Training for the Singapore Sailing Federation and 2013 ISAF Training Scholarship graduate, Joe Chan said, 'The Singapore Sailing Federation has always strived to continually improve its systems and processes. We will continue to work hard to further develop our national accreditation systems and will make sure to implement recommendations made in the ISAF audit report. We will keep ISAF informed of our progress and developments. It is hoped that the ISAF Recognized Training accreditation of our national federation will allow Singapore Sailing to further contribute to the development of the sport not just in Singapore but also in the rest of the South-east Asian region.'
