The 30,000-mile round-the-world Global Ocean Race 2014-15 is for Class40 boats with single-handed, double-handed and fully-crewed (four crew) teams competing and will start in September 2014.

GOR 2014-15 Organisers are securing partner and Leg Sponsors for the Class40 round the world race which will start and finish on Britain’s South Coast. UK-based accounting software supplier, bluQube, has confirmed their continued support for the Global Ocean Race, taking the role of Leg 1 sponsor for the event.

bluQube will have a strong presence throughout the event involving their staff and clients in a variety of imaginative ways, though there will be a particular focus on bluQube Leg 1 with its UK start and the promotional opportunities that presents.

'The sponsorship formula offered by the GOR has worked extremely well for us, both with clients and internally,' says bluQube CEO, Simon Kearsley. 'The mix of branding, hospitality and being fully involved in the event and its inspirational sailors is perfect and we are delighted to continue and increase our partnership. We are greatly looking forward to seeing ‘bluQube Leg 1’ of the race get underway.'

bluQube has been involved with British ocean racing teams for almost a decade and were sponsors of the GOR 2011-12 also providing invaluable support for the South African duo of Phillippa Hutton-Squire and Nick Leggatt with Akilaria Class40 Phesheya-Racing during the last race. The GOR’s bluQube Leg 1 starts at the PSP Southampton Boat Show on Sunday 21 September 2014, finishing approximately 33 days later in Cape Town, South Africa, and is the opening stage of the event’s 30,000-mile circumnavigation.

bluQube Leg 1 will take the teams through the Bay of Biscay, south through the North Atlantic, across the Equator and into the South Atlantic and the strong westerlies in the Southern Ocean before reaching Cape Town after approximately 7,000 miles of hard racing.

'We are delighted that bluQube are continuing and increasing their sponsorship involvement of the Global Ocean Race,' said GOR Race Director, Josh Hall. 'The mixture of benefits that we offer works very well for bluQube and this renewed sponsorship deal proves that our model is effective. bluQube are a hands-on and extremely enthusiastic sponsor and we are looking forward to another grand adventure with them beginning with bluQube Leg Global Ocean Race website
